Eleven primary environmental justice (EJ) indexes of EJSCREEN, EPA's
screening tool for EJ concerns. EPA uses these indexes to identify geographic areas that may warrant further consideration or analysis for potential EJ concerns. Note that use of these indexes
does not designate an area as an "EJ community" or "EJ facility." EJSCREEN provides screening level indicators, not a determination of the existence or absence of EJ concerns. For more
information, see the EJSCREEN home page.

This section provides demographic information regarding the community surrounding the facility. ECHO compliance data alone are not sufficient to determine whether violations at a particular facility had negative impacts on public health or the environment. Statistics are based upon the 2010 US Census and American Community Survey data, and are accurate to the extent that the facility latitude and longitude listed below are correct. The latitude and longitude are obtained from the EPA Locational Reference Table (LRT) when available.

Geospatial data of assessed and impaired waters is necessary to accurately identify the relationships between these waters and the facility on this report. EPA is currently modernizing the Office of Water ATTAINS system. While many states have submitted recent water quality assessment and related geospatial data to EPA, these data will not be available to ECHO until the ATTAINS modernization is complete. Users may review the most recent state-submitted assessment data at https://ofmpub.epa.gov/waters10/attains_index.home.
Missing Units
EPA does not know the units of this value, because the state did not report them. States are not required to report the units of measured values or state MCLs.
Although EPA does not know the units of this value, the following information may help you to interpret the value:
Measured values and state MCLs must be reported in the same units, when they are reported to EPA. Their units may be different from the units of the Federal MCL.
State MCLs, where they exist, must always be at least as stringent as the Federal MCL.
Facility Address Caveat
Facility address information comes from the Facility Registry System via various EPA databases. More information is available in the Facility Address table.
Clean Air Act FRV Date Information
EPA requests state and local environmental agencies provide data associated with Federally Reportable Violations (FRVs) that is thereafter displayed in ECHO. These
agencies submit data in accordance with minimum EPA requirements. In so doing, these agencies have varied processes for how they provide such information.
To accommodate for this variation in FRV reporting, EPA has updated the ECHO display of data to allow the states/locals to choose to report FRVs consistent
with one of the following approaches:
Agencies use the FRV Determination Date and the Resolved Date to display an FRV date range in ECHO. These include Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts, and North Carolina.
Agencies use the FRV Determination Date to display in ECHO the date when the FRV was identified. These include all other state and local agencies.
Quarter 13 Information
Quarter 13 is draft/unofficial and has not been fully quality assured. Read more.
TRI Chemical Release Information
Chemical release information from the Toxics Release Inventory is presented for informational purposes and is not a measure of compliance. Releases may be to landfills, underground injection wells, off-site locations, or other - each column is defined in the Data Dictionary.
Enforcement and Compliance Caveat
ECHO is displaying Clean Air Act data from the modernized national data management system, ICIS-Air. Some states are still establishing data transfer connections to ICIS-Air. Data for these states may be incomplete.
Benchmark Limit Exceedances Information
Benchmark limit exceedances indicate instances when stormwater pollutant concentrations exceed levels that could adversely affect receiving water quality, and require permittees to review their stormwater control measures and take corrective action. These are not violations, but rather indicators of potential problems at the site. Read more.
Violation Resolution Caveat
For Clean Air Act stationary sources, High Priority Violations are not considered resolved until the source is in full physical compliance and any enforcement requirements are complete (penalties are paid, etc.). Therefore, a facility’s compliance status may remain “High Priority Violation” even after the violation has been addressed.
